“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.”
~A.A. Milne, from "Winnie the Pooh"

Surgery Update 2

They took Lydia from us around 9 am this morning. We have been sitting in the waiting room, surrounded by our family for almost 4 hours now. The actual surgery had an official start time of 10:32 am, and at last update, which was around 12:30, she was on the bypass machine and the surgeon had begun the repair. He told us that the total surgery should take around 4 hours, so we are hoping that they will be coming to tell us that he's ready to talk to us around 2:30 pm EST. It's almost 1 now.
I want to to take the time now before I get too busy loving on my baby....I am completely overwhelmed by all of your comments, encouragement, and prayers. I was sitting here in the waiting room, by myself, while everyone went to eat lunch. I passed, I don't think I can eat a thing....But I thought I would check in while I was waiting and was brought to tears by 933 blog visits, and over a 100 comments by people who don't even know us, but still took the time to stop by and say a prayer! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I will update again later...
Love,
Heidi

  5. I watched your video of Lydia today for the first time. She is such a special precious angel. I know she will bring you and your family joy for many years to come. I have worked with special needs children and they are wonderful to be around. My heart pours out to you during this critical time. I have asked God to keep a watch over Lydia and keep his hands on her both during the surgery and during recovery. I look forward to your updates.
    Sincerely,
    Denise
