The ventilator has been pulled. Lydia is breathing well on her own..although oxygen assisted right now. O2 sats are super (95-100)! She is still experiencing the heart block, which means she still has the external pacemaker. She is awake....although she is highly drugged up in an attempt to keep her pain free and calm. Neither of which seems to be the case. She is tossing and turning and thrashing around and has been for several hours now. Its a very hard thing to see your baby in pain and know that there is nothing you can do for her. :(
Hopefully tomorrow will be better........
I hope tomorrow is better, too. Sending a hug from across the miles!

I wish I could give you a hug.
ReplyDeleteMy son was born with a CHD and had corrective surgery at seven weeks. He experienced being unsettled as well, but I was told that he was more confused and disoriented than in pain, and in my heart I felt that was probably true, as he was upset but not giving me his usual pain indicators. I hope this is true for your beautiful, adorable daughter...
She'll feel better once you can hold her. :-(
