They took Lydia from us around 9 am this morning. We have been sitting in the waiting room, surrounded by our family for almost 4 hours now. The actual surgery had an official start time of 10:32 am, and at last update, which was around 12:30, she was on the bypass machine and the surgeon had begun the repair. He told us that the total surgery should take around 4 hours, so we are hoping that they will be coming to tell us that he's ready to talk to us around 2:30 pm EST. It's almost 1 now.
I want to to take the time now before I get too busy loving on my baby....I am completely overwhelmed by all of your comments, encouragement, and prayers. I was sitting here in the waiting room, by myself, while everyone went to eat lunch. I passed, I don't think I can eat a thing....But I thought I would check in while I was waiting and was brought to tears by 933 blog visits, and over a 100 comments by people who don't even know us, but still took the time to stop by and say a prayer! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I will update again later...
Love,
Heidi
